This week I shared a verse that God had shown me during my Quiet time. The verse found in Psalm 14:2 has caused me to think of how much God is involved in our lives and how much He wants us to be part of His work in the world we live in.A recent program on television showed a Christian family and when the children listened to their parents give advice the kids really needed to hear, all they really heard was "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah blah..." They actually were tuning their parents out, meaning to or not.The verse I meditated on this week says that "The Lord is in heaven looking upon the children of men to see if there are any who understand and who seek God."

First, this verse caused me to think of the many times that I have been hearing God's word and my mind was thinking about something else, to God it must have seemed like I was tuning Him out. Bob and I are reading from Ezekiel and I have to confess that some of the words sound like "Blah, Blah, Blah." because I do not understand what I am reading and yet it is important for me to try. We are learning every day that God shows us something that we have read before but it did not stick. Suddenly, God brings it back to our remembrance and we say, "you know it was here all the time.

"Words - they are important. But we need to hear the right words. We like words that confirm us, make us feel good about our selves and I like the idea that God is continually looking down from Heaven searching for those who understand. Without understanding we are somewhat useless to His kingdom and the ministry each of us has in this life. So we have to make time with God a priority in our lives. It really must be a top priority for every day, not be something that we slip in at the end of the day with a quick "God bless me and ours, Amen" We can only understand God when we hear from Him. All of His instructions for our lives are written in His book. We can know the will of God in every situation if we know the heart of God and that we can only get from the reading/studying His Word. There is no excuse if we love God to not make Him our first priority.

God says He is looking to find those who "seek God". That is not just for those who do not know Him as Savior but it is also for those who do know Him.

When Debbie was small, she decided to go to town for Kleenex. She was about 3 and she had walked with me many times up to Winn Dixie in Kingsland -the old Winn Dixie for those who are newcomers. I almost never took my eyes off her but in just a flash, she was off and deligently I started searching for her. I was getting frantic when a dear friend of mine, my mentor as a younger adult drove up and there was Debbie. Mrs Bruce lived about 4 blocks from us and this could have had a tragic ending but Deb was dedicated to God before she was born and He took care of her. I did not know where she was but He did and He brought her home. But I was seeking. I was anxiously seeking like I believe God is doing for us.How much more God seeks for us! His Son died for us. He is not going to lose us but we can stray away from Him without knowing His will. Think about these thoughts. I don't know why God gave them to me except that I should be

Sharing His love,

Peggy
